Searching Google (or for that matter any search engine) definitely plays a significant role in our “online lives” today. This also has been a core of SEO and related topics.
Analyzing SERPs:
At least twice in a day, I end up performing Google Search. Recently, I was reading about how website theme creators, especially for someone who is new to theme development, can learn from the existing themes from WordPress themes directory and in general what the differences were between a regular theme and a Genesis child theme.
I searched Google with the words like ‘difference between regular wordpress theme and genesis theme’.
(As on today – Nov 24, 2015) on page 10 of the SERP, I found a rare gem of a blog post (IMHO).
This may or may not be the best SEO’d website among them (because I somehow found it on page 10 of the SERPs) but the content I found here was different from the other ones. It was an opinion from a Genesis child themes developer who wrote his thoughts that were good enough for me to pick a couple of learning nuggets of wisdom – especially the comments that followed that blog post.
But that’s not the lesson found in SERPs.
What struck me here is that not ALL websites and blogs are using the SEO techniques OR at least they are not using most of the techniques – there are also some rare thoughts, genuine opinions, useful insights and resources out there in the web that are not visible to the general audience like me who usually won’t go past the 1st page of search engine’s result pages (SERPs).
The next time you search for something, just relax and go beyond the first couple of search result pages and you’ll be amazed at what you find. For there are some people who are good at writing but not just yet for search engines.
