Orkut is no more and was discontinued in September 2014. Someone told me that after a certain date in Sep 2014, to download our photos, scraps, testimonials, etc. we might not be able to get them back.
Did that happen to you? Are you one of those who lost great memories, scraps and photos from your school days in Orkut.
Sounds familiar?
How would you feel, if you are able to get to download and backup Orkut scraps, testimonials, photos in a zip format or be sent to your existing email ID?
Feels like some part of your yesterday has come back alive, right? I felt the same when I found this trick.
Google Takeout to the rescue
Go to https://www.google.com/settings/takeout
Here, at Google Takeout, you will see the services from Google which you may download.
Now it’s all simple. Unselect those that you don’t want to download. Select the ones you want to download. Click Next to customize your download format. You can either download them in .zip or .tgz or .tbz format. Note: Archives larger than 2 GB will be split into multiple .zip files.
Under “Delivery method”, either you can send a download link to your email or to your Google Drive. The option is yours.
That’s all, no more steps! Enjoy. Share this post with all your friends from the past.
